A rare and captivating piece of post-war Taormina, painted by Swedish artist Sven Caas (1916–?) during his stay in the Sicilian town in April 1949.

The view depicts Mount Etna seen from one of Taormina’s most famous panoramic spots: Hotel Bel Soggiorno, overlooking the Bay of Naxos. The distinctive perspective showcases the landscape that still unfolds before the hotel today, featuring the downhill road, lush Mediterranean vegetation, and, in the background, the snow-capped peak of Mount Etna.
