Antica veduta a volo d’uccello della città di Messina con la zona falcata, tratta da “Civitates Orbis Terrarum”, pubblicata a Colonia tra il 1572 e il 1617. L’ Opera di impegno eccezionale fu voluta da G. Braun a continuazione del “Theatrum” di Ortelius. Parteciparono alla stesura dell’opera i migliori calcografi del tempo come F. Hogenberg e S. Neuvelt e artisti come G. Hoefnagel che avendo viaggiato in tutta Europa propone nuove rappresentazioni diventate prototipi per molte pubblicazioni successive.
